Greensboro Visitors & Convention Bureau
project details
The Greensboro Area Convention & Visitors Bureau had an existing site that had been developed in ASP which had some administration functions allowing the staff at the CVB to maintain some of the site contents. They came to RED Enterprises (then Dynamic Media Solutions) and Foxx Marketing Services requesting that we help them enhance their site, consolidate the navigation and give them more access to be able to update the content. They also wanted a new look for their site, which hadn't changed in a number of years.
We began by taking the database and converting it and the data inside it to a more updated software. A significant amount of time was used to reformat data and remove erroneous information.
Then we created a new design for the site which included a major reworking of the navigation, which previously had a significant amount of redundant links and pages (some identical pages existed twice but were linked from different places on the site).
The website was completely redesigned from the ground up in Coldfusion, and new features were added to most of the pages and the administration screens.
In the past, about 20% of the pages were updateable by the staff at the CVB, now more than 60% of the pages are updateable.
